Psychology program

The primary objective of the educational psychologist specializes in providing advice and support to facilitate learning and the construction of skills and competencies at all levels of psychological development, cognitive, psychosocial and psychoaffective – both inside and outside educational centers.

Intervention

Intervention in Psychology refers to the application of psychological principles and techniques of a health professional with the intention of assisting people and helping them understand their problems, reduce or overcome them and/or improve individual abilities or relationships with

others.

Intervention is offered to students with:

  • Depression
  • Grief
  • Anxiety
  • Self-esteem
Prevention

Preventive Psychology is responsible for improving healthy behaviors, reducing those behaviors

that can lead to pathology and promoting adaptive behaviors and attitudes in individuals and

groups through Health Education strategies.

The importance of prevent services is to avoid:

  • Suicide
  • Bullying
  • Mental disorders
About Our Guidance Councelor

As the Guidance Counselor at Caribbean School, I support students navigating academic and personal challenges. Through individual and group sessions, I help students build self-esteem, enhance decision-making and communication skills, and resolve conflicts. I also serve as a resource for parents, teachers, and administration, promoting a collaborative approach to student well-being and success.

My name is Melanie Moreno and I am the school nurse. I am a mother of two girls, so I can understand your concerns once you drop your children off at school. I assure you that I will always ensure their well-being and safety. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing with a Sub- Specialty in Maternal- Infant.
